Darien is a residential community with a shoreline of fingers reaching into Long Island sound. Only 13 square miles, Darien has a similar population to New Canaan with approximately 6,500 households and 19,000 inhabitants. Both towns boast excellent schools. The Darien Blue Wave and New Canaan Rams are staunch rivals...until, of course, grads are in college and can become the best of friends. The main Metro New Haven Line offers many trains to Stamford and NYC. I95 and the Boston Post Road(US1) are easily accessed
and the Merritt Parkway(Rt.15) is at the other end of town. Darien offers an easy life with numerous clubs and shopping in town.
